The RMHS Marching Mustangs ended their competitive season with a strong showing at the Sandwich Renegade Music Festival that was held this past Sunday, October 16th. At this large contest, the marching band from RMHS had another strong performance that earned them 1st place in class A, along with Best Auxiliary (Flags), Best Visual and Best General Effect. In addition, the RMHS took 3rd place in parade. “Despite the cold and the wind, the ensemble had a great performance on the field,” said director, Christopher Buti. “We were excited to try a new ending to the show, which made it even more powerful,” he further adds. There is one last chance to see the award-winning show on the field at this Friday’s home football game.
This year’s award-winning show is entitled, “FIRE AND ICE,” and features contemporary music enhanced with colorful flag choreography and intricate drill designs. The Marching Mustangs are directed by Christopher Buti and Joshua Stewart. The Color Guard is instructed by Christopher Buti and Okema Gunn. The performances are led by student drum majors, Anthony Grande, Andy Lichtenstein, and Marissa Walentschik. Remaining performances for the MM include: a home football game on 10/21 and the Band-O-Rama Concert on 10/26.
