The RMHS Marching Mustangs continued their competitive season with a strong showing at the St. Rita Stampede Marching Contest that was held this past Sunday, October 2nd. At this large contest, the marching band from RMHS had a strong performance that earned them 1st place in class AA, along with Best Auxiliary (Flags). In addition, the RMHS ensemble had the highest visual, general effect and auxiliary scores of the entire contest. “Our goal for the kids is to make sure that every time they take the field, it is their best performance of the season up to that point,” said director, Christopher Buti. “This performance reached that goal and helped them to raise the bar for future performances,” he added further.
This year’s award-winning show is entitled, “FIRE AND ICE,” and features contemporary music enhanced with colorful flag choreography and intricate drill designs. The Marching Mustangs are directed by Christopher Buti and Joshua Stewart. The performances are led by student drum majors, Anthony Grande, Andy Lichtenstein, and Marissa Walentschik. Remaining performances for the MM include: a home football game on 10/7, the Sandwich Music Festival on 10/16, a home football game on 10/21, and the Band-O-Rama Concert on 10/26.
