Surprise Retirement Party for Ron Wirth

From Lauralee Reese:

Ron Wirth, the South Middle School Jazz Band director, is retiring. Next Thursday, April 19, at 7:30 PM is his last Jazz Band concert. We would like as many former students to attend or play in the concert. The two songs are “Vehicle” and “I Saw Her Standing There.” Musical parts are available—search Facebook.com for the “South Middle School Jazz Band Alumni” group.

There will be a practice Wednesday, April 18, at 7 PM at South Middle School. Mr. Buti will direct the alumni group on Thursday night.

Please e-mail questions to Lauralee Reese or Dierdre O’Brien.

Hope you can join us! Please do two things when you see this:

1. Follow these links to a couple of Google Docs spreadsheets that have been set up, and tentatively sign up for an instrument and part. We’d like to make sure we have coverage for all the parts before Wednesday. The document contains instructions on how to fill it out.

2. We can’t post the music here, so let Dierdre know how to get it to you, so you can run through it before Wednesday. If you’re local she can drop it off, you can pick it up at her house, or she can e-mail the PDF and you print it. Her e-mail address is deirdre_or@yahoo.com or contact me through Facebook.

Thank you! Everyone’s really looking forward to this and it’s great that you’re all willing to do this. It’ll be so nice for Mr. Wirth to see (and hear) the positive impact he’s made.
