From Mr. Buti:
Congratulations to the Marching Mustangs on two great parade performances on the 4th of July in the cities of Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows. The Marching ensemble was met with enthusiastic appreciation and applause in both communities. The students worked very hard in Early Summer Music Camp to prepare for these performances, along with getting a jump on other traditional music for the next camp (starting July 30th) and the school year!
Also, thanks to the students for their perseverance during the EXTREMELY hot and humid conditions! They listened to our instructions about keeping hydrated and applying sunscreen. A big part of why the students stayed strong and hydrated was because of the assistance of numerous parent volunteers! The parents did an amazing job of passing out water bottles, wiping sweat, pouring water or placing wet towels on the marchers’ necks, and constantly checking to make sure students were feeling ok. Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered on the 4th! The students and staff would not have been able to make it through those extreme conditions without your help. Thank you!
