Jazz in the Meadows is now fewer than 5 days away – and we still need your HELP!

Please enter where and when you can help us at the SignUpGenius links below, for Jazz in the Meadows is fewer than 5 days away now!

Today we are featuring the Outside Security and Door Monitor positions.  There are so many great reasons to serve and be a part of the best Jazz festival in the Midwest – you can check them out below.

We also ask you to consider volunteering for more than one position during the day if you have the time (you’re already going to be there anyways, right?), and as always, we and the students thank you!

Featured Volunteer Need: Outside Security

Top 5 reasons to work Outside Security:

  1. You are the first face Jazz in the Meadows guests see of the festival, and they’ll be so excited to see you.  People will think you’re important, because you are!
  2. Fresh air is good for you, and this warm weather is guaranteed through the weekend – possibly the warmest day for a Jazz in the Meadows ever!
  3. You get to wear a neon safety vest.
  4. All volunteers get in free to the finale concert, and Jeff Coffin and the Mu’tet are AMAZING!
  5. All of the proceeds raised benefit the music program directly, and your directors and students will be forever grateful.

Featured Volunteer Need: Door Monitors

Top 5 reasons to be a Door Monitor:

  1. You don’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to – at all now – we have created new signs this year for our Door Monitors to hold up to help silence the noisy crowd outside the performance rooms.
  2. You are the gatekeeper.  People will think you’re important, because you are.
  3. You get to wear a snazzy purple JITM Staff shirt!
  4. All volunteers get in free to the finale concert, and Jeff Coffin and the Mu’tet are AMAZING!
  5. All of the proceeds raised benefit the music program directly, and your directors and students will be forever grateful.

MSL Football Playoffs start Friday night & the Marching Mustangs need your support

Our undefeated Rolling Meadows High School Football Team has made it to the Mid-Suburban League Playoffs!  The game starts at 7 p.m., this Friday, October 28.  Please note that this is 30 minutes earlier than regular season games; however, the call time for Marching Mustangs remains the same at 5:30 p.m.

We will once again need help making cookies for sale during the game, providing ice, chilling water bottles, moving the larger instruments on and off of the field, and uniform-collection help and storage at the end of the game.  Please help us out in any way that you can as we cheer our Mustangs on to victory!!

The RMHS Music Boosters

New volunteer jobs posted, plus we still need help this weekend!

Thank you so much for all of the help with last Friday’s first home football game!  The Marching Mustangs arguably launched their season with their strongest premiere performance in years and they are poised to “wow” the fans again this Friday and compete for the Grand Champion spot in Grayslake on Sunday at their first competition.

We have added additional volunteer spots for each football game: We are now hoping that people will bring bags of ice and water bottles to help keep the band hydrated during these early season games when the weather is still so warm.  Of course, the Boosters will reimburse parents for water and ice expenses.  In addition, would you like to have “on field” viewing for the Desert Winds performance this Friday night?  With such a large pit band on the field, we need 4 or 5 parents to help move the larger instruments  on and off the field at Half Time.  Please check these opportunities out at the link below and help us out where you can!
