Time to Volunteer for Jazz in the Meadows!

2018 Jazz in the Meadows
It’s Time to Volunteer!

Less than 4 weeks away now on Saturday, Feb. 24, the RMHS Music Boosters will host its most important fund-raiser of the year, the 33nd Annual Jazz in the Meadows, the largest high-school competitive jazz festival in the Midwest!

And of course we need LOTS & LOTS of your help to make this the great event that it is each year!  A new SignUpGenius spot is now up and ready for you to browse the more than 130 jobs/time slots that need to be filled for Jazz in the Meadows.  You will find it here:

2018 Jazz in the Meadows SignUpGenius

The 130+ volunteer slots are divided by Tabs at the top of the page into various areas of service throughout Jazz in the Meadows.  They include in no particular order:

Under each Tab, you will find descriptions that break down all of the positions where we will need volunteer support from parents, friends and alumni of our outstanding music program at RMHS.  Please browse through each  Tab and enter your name everywhere that you are able to serve.

It is hoped that an adult from each band, orchestra and color guard family will be able to volunteer for at least 2 hours for Jazz in the Meadows.  If you have any questions about a particular position, please contact Tom Toussaint, our Volunteer Coordinator, at

We will be sending out frequent reminders from now until the 24th to help get these positions filled and update volunteers on any changes and with final instructions for our work that day.

Program Book Ads

In addition, just a reminder that the Jazz in the Meadows Program Book includes ads from local businesses and parents who want to support the Instrumental Music Program at RMHS as well as “Shout Outs” to students and the deadline for reservations is tomorrow, Monday, January 29.  You can learn more about doing this here:

2018 Jazz in the Meadows Program Book Info

If you are interested in placing an ad, contact Mr. Buti as soon as possible and send your payment and completed form above to him.  Reaching as many as 4,000 attendees, this is a great way to reach this jazz-loving audience while supporting our music students.

We look forward to our best Jazz in the Meadows yet and thank you for all the support – both in time and treasure – that we know you will share with our students!

The RMHS Athletic Boosters is looking for help with Homecoming at the Second Annual Picnic and Mustang Million. Please consider helping.

This month’s RMHS Music Boosters Meeting will take place on Tuesday October 10th. We meet near the back of the cafeteria in the Faculty Lounge at 7pm

Music Boosters support the various bands and directors. Everyone is encouraged to participate and help shape the activities for the students throughout the school year and build life long memories.

If you have any questions about the RMHS Music Boosters please send an email to president@rmhsmusicboosters or reach out to Mr. Buti or Mr. Carroll for additional information. The RMHS Music Boosters work closely with the directors in helping to plan and support such things as concerts, trips, camps, band competitions and Jazz in the Meadows.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Have you enjoyed the smell and taste of freshly baked cookies at the home Football games? Many of us do and we really need help this year in keeping that tradition alive.  If you love to bake, or organize people baking, or love to talk to people who love to bake, we could really use your help. The previous cookie baking chairperson left a great foundation that we need to continue to build on, but without some help, the cookie ovens will remain cold this year.

If you can help set up but not stay all night, let us know and we can work with you.   If you only have a few hours after work and can step in to help after things get rolling, great we need your help. Maybe you are only available to run to the store and pick up the cookie dough, that is OK because we can use that help also. If this opportunity is calling to you and sounds like this is a perfect fit to help volunteer with, we want to hear from you.

Please reach out to the Mr Buti, Mr Carroll, Mat Krawczyk or Tom Toussaint.

Our first home game is August 25th. Let’s keep the ovens hot this year!

Thank you
Mat Krawczyk,
2017/2017 RMHS Music Boosters President

Help Wanted! Student Accounts Representative

The current rep is retiring this year. Would you like to learn and take over this job?

Use Excel to maintain a spreadsheet detailing money students earn through fundraising and money they withdraw to pay for music department-related expenses. Except for collecting money at the semi-annual garage sale, the Student Accounts Rep does not handle money, but rather inputs earnings reported by the fundraiser coordinators. Contact to learn more about the job and its time commitments.

Renegade Invitational MusicFest at Sandwich High School is this Sunday, Oct. 16, and the Marching Mustangs need your help!

The Marching Mustangs’ final competition of the 2016 season is the Renegade Invitational MusicFest and will be held from 1:50 to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 16, at Sandwich High School. Our performance time is set for 6:15 p.m. on the football field.

Band members need to arrive at the RMHS Band Room by 1:15 p.m. that afternoon, and we need LOTS of help and support to make this entire day a great success from beginning to end.  From loading and unloading the larger instruments onto the buses to chaperoning, filming the competitive performance, and providing water bottles for the band, there are all kinds of ways to help out, have a great time and get to know other Booster parents.  Many families often drive ahead to the school and cheer on the Marching Mustangs to victory, too!

If you have not had a chance to volunteer this year yet, please check out the volunteer slots below and sign up for whatever you are available to do before our marching season comes to a close.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support and all you do for the Marching Mustangs!
