If you’d like to show your support for Jazz in the Meadows and the instrument music program at Rolling Meadows High School, you can become a Friend of Jazz in the Meadows. Your name will be included in the JAZZ IN THE MEADOWS 2011 PROGRAM BOOK on the “Friends of the Festival” page.
Go to the Jazz in the Meadows page, download the Friends form and print it, enter your information, select your sponsorship level, and write a check before February 1.
Howard Kleinstein has put together an informational video about the Rolling Meadows High School music program. We plan to show it at the registration event at the school tonight. We’re also asking junior high directors to show it to their classes.

Lynn Larson needs helpers to bake cookies at this year’s Craft Fair in the RMHS gym on Saturday, November 13. She needs people for the set-up and first shift of baking from 9 to 11:00 AM and then for the last shift and clean-up from 1:30 until 3:30 PM. Students in the Music Department are holding their Annual Cheesecake Sale with two sale dates—November 12 and December 3—and two delivery dates—November 22 and December 13. Keep in mind that the money goes directly into your student account and may be used for any music expenses or future trips.
The cheesecakes are from Gourmet’s Delight Inc., and have been extremely popular in past sales. Gourmet’s Delight has 13 varieties that they sell, bake, and deliver, striving always for superior customer satisfaction. Made from natural ingredients with no preservatives added, the cheesecakes are best kept frozen but may be refrozen after thawing.
We will meet on Tuesday, October 5th at 7:00PM in the Teachers Lounge (in the back of the cafeteria, follow the signs). In addition to our normal agenda We’re looking for some volunteer help. Some positions are simple and require minimal contribution while others may need a little more attention but we can’t function as an organization with so many vacancies.
The positions listed on the Volunteer page are currently open or need to be filled next year. Look them over and attend our meeting tomorrow night. Ideally, it would be great if you could shadow the current person responsible this year to understand the position and then take it over next year.
