Marching band camp is next week August 1 – 5, and we are in need of volunteers to help with uniform fittings and serve dinner after they’ve been practicing all day. On Friday, August 5, there’s a picnic for the families of ALL MUSIC STUDENTS—not just the marching band, so pass the word! After the picnic, stay to watch the first public performance of this year’s marching competition piece. We’re using signupgenius.com not only to track volunteers, but also to get an idea of how many people will attend the picnic. Thanks to all who were able to join us for our very first Early Camp Tailgate Party Thursday night! I, personally, had a great time. We hope that you saw some old friends and maybe even met some new ones; got answers to some questions you may have had; and enjoyed our first look at your 2016-17 Marching Mustangs!
For those who were unable to attend this event…fear not! We will have future events in the days to come, beginning with the Annual Family Picnic at the conclusion of summer band camp on Friday, Aug. 5th. We’ll get to see the first performance of the MM competition/halftime show…Desert Winds, so be sure to save the date. It’s always a great time!
Once again, thanks to all who were able to attend Thursday night. It was really nice to see everyone.

Tuesday’s Bunco Night was just the beginning! The next food-related event—the Marching Mustangs Family Picnic—is tomorrow, Friday, August 7. (You’ll see it listed in the Calendar.)
The picnic will be in the Football Stadium from 5:30 to 7 PM. (The grilling will be outside.) Following the picnic, there will be a (free) performance from your students as they show you what they’ve learned during this week of practice.
If you are attending, please bring a food item to share. Last names A-M brings salad and N-Z brings dessert. Please also visit volunteerspot.com to let us know that you are coming and how many in are in your party.

Join the RMHS Music Boosters for a fun evening of Bunco on Tuesday, August 4, 6-9 p.m. in the RMHS Cafeteria. There will be food, fun, and prizes! Meet new people and get reacquainted with friends. Marching Band parents can then pick up their student from practice after the games. Even if you’ve never played, we’ll show you how. It’s easy! The RMHS Music Department invites band, orchestra, and choir students to the annual ice cream social tomorrow, August 13, at 5:30-6:30 pm in the north commons. Sponsored by the Music Boosters, it’s a fun event that helps the students get to know each other and kick off the year. We hope to see your student there.
