JAZZ ENSEMBLE I @ THE JAZZ SHOWCASE!

pianoHave you ever wondered what it would be like to play baseball at Wrigley or US Cellular Field, basketball or hockey at the United Center, football at Soldier Field, or dance on the Goodman Stage? Imagine getting to do what you love in one of the world’s most prestigious venue. RMHS Jazz will get to do exactly that!

On Tuesday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m., the RMHS Jazz Ensemble I will be performing at the legendary JAZZ SHOWCASE, opening for the Mark Colby Quartet. Mark was a long-time member of the Maynard Ferguson Band and is a Chicago icon. Over its 68 years of existence, the Jazz Showcase has hosted such musical legends as Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie (yearly on his birthday), Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Kenny Burrell, Sony Stitt, Johnny Griffin, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Philly Joe Jones, Joe Lovano, and Chris Potter. Even if you don’t have a student in Jazz I, please consider joining us for this very special event. We want to have a great crowd supporting our band and listening to one of Chicago’s great musicians in such a historical place. Plus, you’ll have a good time! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and siblings, payable at the door. The Jazz Showcase is located at 806 South Plymouth Court, Chicago, IL 60605. Let’s pack the place!
