– The RMHS Music Boosters
Thank you to all who have helped throughout the year. Your contributions are why RMHS Music Boosters is so strong. We are in the homestretch and there are a number of events that are still in need of volunteers. If you haven’t had a chance to help yet, we would love it if you could spare some time. Specifically we need help at the Spring Band Concert (Tuesday, May 11), the Spring Jazz Band Concert (Thursday, May 19), and the Spring Orchestra Concert (Thursday, May 26). Clicking the event link will take you to volunteerspot.com where you can sign up to help. You can also see these events listed on the Volunteer page.
This will be a rather busy week for the RMHS Bands. On Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the RMHS theater, the Concert Band will perform in the D214 Concert Band Festival. On Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m., the Symphonic Band will perform in the 9th Annual Wind Ensemble Invitational at Lake Zurich H.S. (which will also feature the Elmhurst College Wind Ensemble!) Finally, Jazz Band I & II will perform on Saturday, March 14 at the Mundelein Jazz Invitational at Mundelein H.S. More information about the Lake Zurich & Mundelein can be found below. We hope that you and your family will come hear the wonderful music the students have been preparing! If you would like to help out at the concert, we will need a couple people to sell tickets. Please visit the Volunteer page to sign up. Thank you for your continued support of the RMHS Music Department.
To prepare for the new school year, the students must be fitted for uniforms and tuxes or dresses. Since there are at least 100 members of the marching band and orchestra, we need some parent volunteers to help out during band camp (Monday, August 5 through Wednesday, August 7).
Tasks include helping students try on uniforms and dress clothes to ensure they’re not too tight and they’re the correct length. With so many students, we need a few volunteers every day for each type of fitting. We could also really use your help if you can do minor sewing, such as hemming and sewing snaps back onto uniforms and maybe some tacking. (You can even take the work home, if you prefer.)
Please go to the Volunteer page, scroll down to the Uniform Fittings activity and click “Sign up” or click this link: Uniform Fittings. This will take you to a list of tasks. Please sign up for as many days as you can. The listed times are when fittings will be done, but you can come and help whenever it’s convenient for you within those hours.
Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you have any questions.
