New volunteer jobs posted, plus we still need help this weekend!

Thank you so much for all of the help with last Friday’s first home football game!  The Marching Mustangs arguably launched their season with their strongest premiere performance in years and they are poised to “wow” the fans again this Friday and compete for the Grand Champion spot in Grayslake on Sunday at their first competition.

We have added additional volunteer spots for each football game: We are now hoping that people will bring bags of ice and water bottles to help keep the band hydrated during these early season games when the weather is still so warm.  Of course, the Boosters will reimburse parents for water and ice expenses.  In addition, would you like to have “on field” viewing for the Desert Winds performance this Friday night?  With such a large pit band on the field, we need 4 or 5 parents to help move the larger instruments  on and off the field at Half Time.  Please check these opportunities out at the link below and help us out where you can!

New Volunteer Opportunities for the Fall Season

Happy Labor Day Weekend to all and it is also the day of the first football game of the 2016 season!

Thanks to all who signed up for our traditional game-day volunteer slots so quickly – we had every spot filled within 10 hours, which might be a record!

But there are 2 NEW spots remaining, and Mr. Buti has asked if any of the Boosters would be able to film both the Pre-Game and the Half-Time performances for the band to review afterwards.  He emphasizes that these do NOT need to be professional quality but he will use them to review formations and the overall look of the band while marching.  The videoclip can then be either given to Mr. Buti that evening or e-mailed to him at chris.buti@d214.org by the end of the weekend.  We are adding this volunteer job at all home games and competitions this year – please consider trying your hand at this to help our amazing band get even greater!

You can volunteer to film tonight’s game here:

Additional help still needed during Orchestra Camp this week

RMHS Orchestra Camp has begun and we still need a few more parent volunteers to help fit tuxedos and dresses over the next few nights as well as some hospitality help on Wednesday and Friday.

You can sign up HERE at the RMHS SignUpGenius site.

Please consider supporting  our orchestra and music programs by sharing your time if you can.  We extend a special invitation to parents of orchestra students to come out and offer their service during camp week.

With humblest thanks,

The RMHS Music Boosters

Please RSVP for the Band Camp Picnic

On this “Eve” of August Band Camp, we noticed that there are still quite a few families who have not indicated whether they plan to attend the Picnic this Friday night, August 5.  We are beginning to pull together our hotdog order and want to make sure that we have enough for everyone!  You can submit your response and number of people going right HERE.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you Friday night!
